Labeling requirements in Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regulates food, including product registration through its Food Safety Department. Mandatory label information must appear in Arabic, and another language may be added if the information is equivalent.
- Food: the Gulf standard GSO 9 covers the food name, ingredients, date marking, country of origin and Arabic text.
- Registration: food products are registered with the MoPH, and registration doesn't replace inspection or testing.
- Claims: GSO 2333 applies to health and nutrition claims.
- Imports: Arabic stickers are generally accepted if hard to remove, complete, and not covering required information.
- Supplements and cosmetics: confirm the registration route with the MoPH or your agent before printing.
- CBD: we don't design CBD packs for this market.
