Labeling requirements in Denmark

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) enforces EU Regulation 1169/2011. Mandatory information must generally be in Danish, or a closely similar language.

Food: EU FIC particulars, emphasised allergens, the nutrition declaration and 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
Supplements: products must be notified to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and follow its supplement rules.
Organic: the red Ø-label is reserved for inspected Danish businesses, and the EU organic logo has its own rules.
Cosmetics: Regulation 1223/2009, with an EU Responsible Person and CPNP notification, supervised by the Danish EPA.
Packaging: extended producer responsibility has applied since October 1, 2025, with registration and fees for packaging sold in Denmark.
CBD: ingestible products are treated as novel foods under EU rules.
