Slovenia Packaging Regulations

EU FIC Regulation 1169/2011 applies; labels must be in Slovenian for domestic retail. UVHVVR (Uprava za varno hrano, veterinarstvo in varstvo rastlin, Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection) enforces food safety and labelling. Kraški pršut and Kraška panceta hold EU PDO status; Istrska malvazija (wine), Teran (wine from Refošk grapes in the Karst), and Štajersko prekmursko bučno olje (pumpkin seed oil) also hold EU PDO status. Slovensko med (Slovenian honey) carries a nationally administered PGI designation under the 'Slovensko med' protected name. JAZMP (Javna agencija za zdravila in medicinske pripomočke, Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of the Republic of Slovenia) regulates pharmaceutical packaging under EMA procedures; Slovenia participates in EU centralised pharmaceutical authorisation procedures.
